Bright and Bold Moths

Being a toymaker who's obsessed with colours and bewitched by patterns means I have a pretty hefty fabric stash by now. It's getting pretty impressive, and I'm almost at the stage where I have so much that sometimes I forget patterns I have.

I made these two Bright and Bold moths from remnant fabrics from my scrap stash. The geometric one is a stunning fabric from Africa. I have a family friend from Uganda who kindly gives me offcuts from her clothes, and this one is a stunning black and white pattern highlighted with turquoise and yellow. The orange and blue is a lovely piece of upholstery fabric I found, and is a gorgeous impressionist pattern of black, orange and blue poppies.

I paired both of these two with super soft minky bodies, tiny faux mohawks and wire feet and curly antennae.
